um, can you all believe we live here?! we walk everywhere, and this is our view on the way to target! i lovelovelove being downtown.

i read "it starts with food" and proceeded to be afraid to eat anything at all for about a week.

it's been a while since i've done an instagram post. probably because i haven't been doing anything cool enough to take photos of!

did you watch the inauguration on monday? my favorite quote was "that is our generation's task - to make these values of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness - real for every american." i really loved the whole thing. mentions of climate change and equal rights for woman and marriage for all!

umm, i am obsessed with these popcorn chips. i don't even have words for how good they are.

as you know, last week was b's birthday. we don't do gifts for each other anymore {sad}, but i did buy him some beers at the beer garden's oktoberfest.

signing up for a joint bank account! we won't really be sharing money until after we get married, but we needed it for our honeymoon registry. sigh, i'll have to write a post on how complicated that process has been.

and then it snowed this friday. it was really more of a dusting, but it was still pretty exciting.

and that little storm made it wear-10-layers-inside-and-out season. b, unasked, let me know that i looked like "a homeless old woman" when wearing this outfit. if rocking leggings, high socks, rain boots and a knee-length puffy jacket is wrong, i don't want to be right.

WHILE I WAS NOT BLOGGING.

here's what i was snapping photos of during my month-long blogging break.

big balloon out in thornton. our friends that lived there - michelle and art - moved to texas last week. we are both really sad.

a gift from my mom, which also reveals our wedding date! yep, a date has been set: july 13, 2013. we had joked for a long time that we would get married on 7/13/13 because we were both #13 in sports when we were young. it's special to us and now it'll be our wedding anniversary.

us.

"things i wish i'd known before we got married" came highly recommended to me from a bunch of people. i love gary chapman's other book about the love languages, and i really enjoyed this. baker is currently reading it and then we'll go through chapter to chapter and discuss.

no joke, this sweatshirt is one of my most prized possessions right now. i saw it on pinterest {where else?} and was so, so impressed by the customer service! custom glam girl called to confirm how i wanted the soon-to-be mrs.baker laid out and it was a customer service rep based in indiana! i absolutely love it. and it absolutely embarrasses b when i wear it out.

work happy hour at interstate kitchen and bar. the drinks were amazing, the food was just okay. that is actually a trend of pretty much everywhere we've been out here. the food snob within me is #notimpressed.

we had our first visitor!!! courtney came! it was a wonderful weekend and made me miss her, mosby and nashville in general. more photos coming soon.

shoes from {my new favorite store} nordstrom. i bought them specifically for our engagement photo shoot last weekend and cannot wait to see the photos. we should have them back in a couple of weeks and then they'll be up on the blog asap!

AUGUSTGRAMS.

august totally snuck up on me! how are we more than halfway done with 2012?

this poster made me laugh out loud. daily workout. and proving if we are what we eat i would indeed be pizza, dinner one night was from beau jo's, a colorado specialty. when it comes to the use of pop v. soda, i'm an ohioan for life. baby bunny in our yard! flowers for our anniversary. my first time at nordstrom rack, loved it. the road into our house was paved this week and we are lucky our neighbor let us know so we weren't asphalted into our garage. can you believe it's august?

LAZYGRAMS.

not a whole lot going on over here this week. we've been glued to the couch chanting "usa! usa!" {and occasionally "italy!" "khazashstan!" and whoever else is on the screen} and crying at pretty much any and every olympic-themed commercial.

we still have a lot of packed boxes, but here's our little entryway. i get stopped daily at the light rail crossing. cinnamon bun ice cream - wow is all i have to say about that. the typical {beautiful} denver sky. still just reading magazines instead of doing any planning. an unusual site in denver: rain on the windshield. our favorite - the beer garden - raising money for the wildfire victims. here's what happens when i cook: i have to text pic a friend to see what cup they think the one on the left is! the number had rubbed off and i wasn't sure if it was a half or a whole cup. sigh, i'll continue to leave the cooking to b. and, as noted, our view all weekend. gymnastics are my favorite, what about you?

CARBGRAMS.

last week was a busy, but fun, one out here.

pretzel and beer sampler at helga's. our regular dinner of grilled fish. coffee date with brooke. best $50 we ever spent - this shower head is awesome. amazing, wonderful engagement gift from aunt lisa and uncle rhodes - it absolutely made my day. i've never owned anything from crate and barrel, i wish you could see how overjoyed i was when the mailman delivered it. he was excited for me. lights on our patio. pizza date with ashley. whoops, another pretzel. this time, a giant one from new fav lowry beer garden. we will be on a wedding diet eventually, so let me have my carbs for now. unwined event on sunday, more photos from that coming later in the week!

ENGAGEMENTGRAMS.

we did a whole lotta nothin' this weekend. but, with the engagement, i've got content for days.

what. a. weekend. here are some quick snaps from the past few days.

we are officially moved into our new home. so happy and so tired! here's to a great week.

we are back in the running game! last saturday we completed our first 5k of 2012.

some of my favorite photos from the past week or so. well, that last one was't a high note, but it is a good story.

new dress from the super sale rack at anthropologie {$29!}. we are picky about sushi, but it never fails that our favorite ends up being from our local grocery store. tunnel through downtown denver. a little bit of tennessee, found on the shelves at king sooper's. handy man fixing my car's air conditioner - it's been 90+ here,  so thankful he got it working again! jiffy pop. watching a storm roll in. old school mario kart. injury caused after a mario kart-frustration-induced leg kick, when my face fought a losing battle with a glass cup.

i realize that last photo is ridiculous, but the whole situation was! who accidentally kicks a cup into their face?! and gets a huge cut from it?!! i'm just glad i didn't lose any teeth. #worstnightmare
